Lagos gov. loses dad – The death was announced of a passionate Is­lamic and Com­munity leader as well as politi­cian in Lagos State, Alhaji Prince Jimoh Kareem -Laka Orelop aged 101.

He was born to Akeja Oniyanru and Olugbede Royalfamiliesof Lagos State on the 25th of February, 1913.
Pa Jimoh Laka would be remembered for his philanthropic gestures to the less privileged and his commitment to com­munity development and the propagation of the Is­lamic faith.
A politician of high repute, he is survived by wife, children, grand- chil­dren and great grand- chil­dren among whom is the incumbent deputy Gov­ernor of Lagos State, Her Excellency, Hon. Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire.
Pa Laka will be buried today in accordance with Islamic rites.
