Oshiomhole inaugurates APC caucus in Cross River

National chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole, has inaugurated a 46-man caucus for the Cross River State chapter of the party.

The caucus, led by the state chairman of the party, Dr. Matthew Achigbe, has former governor, Chief Clement Ebri; Niger Delta minister, Dr. Usani Usani; national vice chairman, South South, Ntufam Eta; ex-senate leader, Victor Ndoma-Egba; Senator John Enoh representing Cross River Central and others as members.

Inaugurating the caucus in Calabar on Saturday, Oshiomhole, who was represented by Eta, said the committee, which is to serve for four years, would act as the conscience of the party in the state.

Charging the members to work in unity to ensure that the party wins the next general elections in the state, he said: “The people we are inaugurating today are great minds that will stabilise APC in the state. We want them to work together with other organs of the party to ensure massive victory for APC.”

Achigbe remarked that although their responsibility is enormous, “with unity of purpose, the caucus will work with other organs of the party to defeat PDP in 2019 in the state.”

Meanwhile Senator Bassey Otu at the weekend in Calabar declared his intention to go back to the senate to represent Cross River South on the APC platform.

In the same vein, after months of suspense, Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State at the weekend declared to run for Imo West (Orlu zone) senatorial seat on APC platform.

His Chief Press Secretary (CPS), Sam Onwuemeodo, stated on Sunday that the governor made the announcement when political leaders from Orlu visited him at the Government House, Owerri.
