The Independent National Electoral Commission’s decision to postpone the 2019 elections has been met with anger on social media.
According to INEC, the elections were rescheduled because of logistic issues as the body claimed it was facing difficulty distributing sensitive electoral materials to some states of the federation.
The chairman of INEC, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, read a five-paragraph statement at 2:50 am on Saturday attributing the decision to logistic reasons but refused to entertain any question.
Nigerians have been reacting to the postponement, labelling the decision as terrible, inconveniencing and more.

I'm sitting there in front of the TV, waiting for the promised INEC announcement on the elections. They've taken a decision, but it will be announced to us "later today". REALLY?!! It's 1.40 am! Elections should hold in about 6 hours! What on earth is going on?!!!— Remi Sonaiya (@oluremisonaiya) February 16, 2019
