No fewer than five persons were injured during evacuation of passengers of a Delta aircraft, which took off from the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos, CNN reports One of the two engines of the plane reportedly developed a fault and passengers had to be evacuated through emergency slides.
The incident was said to have occurred on Tuesday, February 13, 2018.
The flight 55 landed safely but five persons suffered minor injuries during the evacuation while the plane was on the runway, the report said,
The flight was heading to Atlanta, United States when the incident occurred.
Dana Airline ‘accident’
This comes seven days after one of the emergency doors of a Dana aircraft reportedly fell off on landing at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.
One of the passengers on the flight, a Twitter user – Ola Brown (@NaijaFlyingDr), who recounted the ordeal had said that the door was unstable throughout the flight, causing panic among passengers.
The airline, in a statement signed by its spokesman, Mr. Kingsley Ezenwa, however, said the door could not have fallen off without a conscious effort by a passenger to open it, assuring that it was investigating the incident.
