Ex-Gov Bafarawa speaks on presidential ambition

Former governor of Sokoto state, Attahiru Bafarawa has spoken on his presidential ambition.

Bafarawa on Wednesday addressed hundreds of youths from the amalgamated traders under the auspices of Sokoto state Youths Amalgamated Traders Association of Nigeria who visited him at his residence.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain explained that he is still seeking “God’s guidance and direction” towards his decision to aspire for the nation’s number one seat.

Bafarawa said anyone who is serious about achieving success should not openly declare for any positions without recourse to God.

He urged Nigerians to continue to “intensify prayers for Nigeria to survive the challenges threatening its unity, cohesion and political harmony”.

Speaking earlier, Chairman of the group, Alhaji Bello Abubakar, urged the former governor to declare for the 2019 presidency.

Meanwhile, chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Prof. Mahmud Yakubu has spoken of the possibility of having up to 80 political parties participating in next year’s general elections.
