A new research has suggested that high-dose of vitamin C given by injection, can boost the cancer-killing effect of chemotherapy. US scientists said that if the vitamin is given by injection, it could potentially be a safe, effective and low-cost treatment for ovarian and other cancers, and have called for large-scale government clinical trials, the BBC reported. Scientists at the University of Kansas said that Vitamin C has long been used as an alternative therapy for cancer and when given by injection, it is absorbed into the body, and can kill cancer cells without harming normal ones.
