Osinbajo, APC South-West woo voters for Buhari

Osinbajo

The Vice-President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, and the Director, Presidential Campaign Council, South West zone, Chief Oluwole Oke, have urged voters in Oyo State and other South-West states to vote for President Muhammadu Buhari in the February 16 election.

At separate meetings, Osinbajo and Oke listed the achievements of the President with a promise that Buhari would do more for South-West if re-elected.

At the palace of the Soun of Ogbomoso, Oba Jimoh Oyewumi, Osinbajo promised that the Ogbomoso/Oyo road would be completed, and that a federal polytechnic would be established in the town.

Addressing residents in Soun Ogunlola town hall, the vice-president said, “We currently have 500,000 people captured in N-Power but we will increase them to one million.”

He assured traders in Ogbomoso that they would soon receive TraderMoni to grow their businesses.

Oke, addressing journalists at Agodi, called on the electorate to support the re-election of the President.

He said, “Today our people are currently heading key ministries like the power, works and housing; communications, health and so on. The feat which brought the APC to power was led by our highly revered leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, and a host of other leaders in Yoruba land.

“We want to sustain these positions in the next level in a way that the gains recorded by the President too on the fight against corruption will not be reversible. Corruption is giving way to era of accountability, transparency and probity in governance.

“The struggle of the Yoruba has always been that those in government must be accountable and that was also what Abiola stood for, that those in government must be responsible to the masses. Mr President has honoured the late MKO Abiola by recognising his electoral victory and setting aside June 12 as Democracy Day.”

He also said the President’s actions were in line with the vision of Chief Obafemi Awolowo and consistent with the philosophy of Yoruba people for a leader to be accountable and uphold integrity.
