As a federal government delegation visited Sokoto yesterday to condole with the government and people of the state over the armed gunmen’s attack that left 39 people dead and several others injured in Tabanni village in Rabah local Government Area of the state, President Buhari has vowed that everything would be done to apprehend the attackers of Sokoto village and bring them to book.
The Minister of Interior, Lt General Abdurrahman Bello Danbazau, who led the delegation, said that president Muhammadu Buhari was very worried over the unfortunate incident.
He said that the delegation was in the state for the on- the -spot assessment of the situation so as to find a lasting solution to the problem and prevent future reoccurrence.
He said that the government would not relent in ensuring the provision of adequate protection for lives and property of the citizenry in the country.
Receiving the delegation at Government House, Sokoto State Governor, Barrister Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, expressed the appreciation of the government and people of the state to President Buhari for the gesture.
The governor said that the state had been receiving pressure from that axis for the past two and half years, adding that state government in collaboration with security agencies had been making efforts to prevent the occurrence of such incident and assured that no stone would be left unturned in putting in place strategies to prevent future occurrence.
