The management of UNIBEN have layed off 19 academic and non academic staff today in a bid to change the image of the University
A statement frome the university’s public relation officer, Mr. Harris Osarenren said the layoff which has been approved by th Governing council of the university was done in reason to sanitize the system of education and to keep up the high standards of the great university
“The Governing Council of the University of Benin having considered and ratified the recommendations of the disciplinary committee set up to look into the various acts of misconduct by erring staff, have approved the dismissal, termination and compulsory retirement of 19 Academic and non Academic staff of the institution,” the statement said.
Five professors and a former bursar were among the affected staff, the statement added.
