Buhari Suffers Major Set-Back In Kebbi, As 5,000 APC Members Joins PDP – No fewer than 5,000 members of the APC in Koko/Besse, Sakaba, Fakai and Shanga Local Government Area of Nigeria’s Kebbi state have defected tothe ruling PDP.
APC leaders stated that it is a big lose to the party and their flagbearer, Pa Muhammadu Buhari and blamed in-fighting as the cause of the defection.
The spokesperson for the defectors, Alhaji Maikano Koko, told Gov. Saidu Dakingari in Koko, this afternoon, the defection was sequel to the numerous development projects sited in the area by the current administration and to stay away from the autocratic set-up in APC.
He said the PDP-led government had provided infrastructural facilities while giving attention to agriculture and youth empowerment.
While welcoming the defectors, chairman of Kebbi state PDP, Alhaji Bello Doya, assured the defectors that they would be treated fairly, saying “ the PDP family cherishes honesty and fairness among members. ”
Bello, who said he would consolidate on the gains recorded by the present administration in the state, advised those who defected to ensure that they collected their Permanent Voter Cards.
