Heritage Bank Limited said it has launched an initiative aimed at making Nigerian youths to embrace agriculture.
The bank in a statement noted that the agricultural sector is crucial to economic growth.
According to Heritage Bank, it had gone into collaboration with one of the country’s musician, Dbanj, to inaugurate the initiative called Koko Agropreneur.
Koko Agropreneur is an entrepreneurial initiative that focuses on agriculture and agro-economic enterprise, the statement added.
Furthermore, it explained that the Koko Agropreneur initiative was aimed at providing practical leadership and encouragement to the massive youth population to embrace the agricultural revolution being championed by the federal government as part of the national socio-economic transformation agenda.
It was also designed to stress the significance of small and medium scale enterprises as a platform for future economic well-being of the country.
Heritage Bank described the partnership with Dbanj as part of its mandate for the preservation and transfer of wealth via robust SME support scheme.
Group Head, SME Banking, Heritage Bank, Mr. Bayo Ogunnusi said: “We at Heritage Bank are pleased to partner with Dbanj in the Nigeria Agricultural Entrepreneur initiative.
“As a bank whose ideology is to create, preserve and transfer wealth across generations, this initiative falls right within our purview.”
The statement said Dbanj had previously made a donation of N50 million to the Nigeria Agricultural Entrepreneur, the national agricultural renewal project being championed by the Ministry of Agriculture.
This followed Dbanj’s appointment as the brand ambassador for the Nagropreneur initiative.
