We Terminated Over 2 Million Igbos During Biafran War And Igbos Must Not Forget This. – President Buhari

Biafran War

Biafran War – The Nigerian president, Muhammadu Buhari has warned Igbos and Niger Delta groups agitating for Independence of Biafra and the restructuring of the Oil wealth ownership not to forget that he and other Nigerian soldiers terminated over 2 million Igbos under 30 months of the Biafra/Nigerian civil war of the 1960s.

Biafran War

Buhari speaking at the State House Abuja as he was breaking his fast with members of the Federal Executive Council, asked the non-violence and peaceful agitators for Biafra and the militants to reflect “very seriously” on the Civil War of 1967-1970 “where about two million Nigerians (Igbos) lost their lives.”

According to Hope For Nigeria, Buhari narrated “and at that time, as young military officers, you hardly heard of anything about petroleum or whatever money you got from it. Look at what Gen. Gowon said `To keep Nigeria one is a task that must be done’ and every soldier whether he has been to school or not, knew what the general meant. [Note: This statement is factually incorrect and false, as oil was found in commercial quantities in the 1950s].

“But we were quarreling with our brothers, we were not fighting an enemy and then somebody is saying that once again, he wants Biafra. I think this is because he was not born when there was Biafra. We have to reflect on the historical antecedents to appreciate what is before us now and what we intend to leave for our children and our grand children.”

President Buhari prior to the 2015 general election re-echoed this same comment in the BBC Hausa service, reminding Nigerians how he as an officer of the Nigerian army and his colleagues killed over 2 million Igbos mostly women and children during the Biafran civil war and warned that he will not fail to repeat this carnage again.

In the last 12 months that Buhari assumed office as Nigerian President, he has been doing everything in the book to provoke the Igbos and the Niger Delta people, knowing that any move by these oppressed people will lead to his unleashing his soldiers to wipe them out within hours.
Notable Igbo and Niger Delta leaders are being detained in various secret underground cells across the country by Buhari under spurious excuses and frivolous allegations.

Yesterday, Gen Azubuike Ihejirika was arrested in his home in Abuja over allegation bordering procurement of Military weapons while the Director Military Procurement as at the time, Gen Burutu, who authorizes Military orders and receives deliveries is a free man and appointed the Chief of Army staff.

Gen Azubuike Ihejirika’s arrest was long expected as the Northern oligarchy that supported and sympathized with Boko Haram activities were angered that during his tenure as the Army chief, he almost annihilated members of the Islamist terror group, Boko Haram. They even planned to start a process of taking the Army General to International Criminal Court (ICC) in Haque for prosecution over his killing of the North East, Nigerian based terror group.

The emergence of President Buhari as the Nigerian leader is a very good chance for the Northern cabal to cross line with Gen Ihejirika and they are using the arm purchases allegation as a cover, while Gen Burutu who is in-charge Military purchases have not been invited in private or public or detained as expected by Buhari agencies of terror, the DSS and EFCC.
