THE United States will build a cotton seed factory industry in Busia County to increase farmers’ output.
Busia Governor Sospeter Ojaamong said the county will partner with the United States Agency for International Development to construct the factory to produce high yielding cotton seeds.
At a media briefing at the Busia Town Hall, Ojaamong said the deal was reached during his tour of the US with governors from 12 other cotton growing zones.
“We have modern cotton machines in Mulwanda in Samia and Kamuriai in Teso North Sub counties donated by the World Bank, thus the need to have high yielding seeds,” he said.
