Yakowa’s Last Official Assignment

Before his untimely death on Saturday, Kaduna State Governor Patrick Yakowa performed his last

official assignment on Friday when he paid an unscheduled visit to the Barau Dikko Specialist Hospital to supervise the ongoing project at the hospital.The state government had awarded the contract of converting the state-owned Barau Dikko Specialist Hospital into a full fledged teaching hospital for the clinical training of students of the Faculty of Medicine of the state own university.

Yakowa had also presented the state proposed 2013 budget on December 13, 2012 for the state House of Assembly’s considerations and assured the citizens of the state of his determination to execute more project under his administration.At the Barau Dikko Hospital, Yakowa said that his administration would soon complete the upgrading of Barau Dikko Specialist Hospital to a university teaching hospital in good time for efficient health care delivery in the state.He then said, “Government would continue to develop healthcare infrastructure for a more effective health care delivery for the people”.

The governor added that government had awarded a N1.2billion contract for the construction and equipment of an ultramodern Dialysis Centre at the Barau Dikko Specialist Hospital, saying that the contract also included the construction of a modern Intensive Care Unit (ICU) with life-support ambulances and a fully furnished academic complex.

He tasked the contractors handling the project to ensure its speedy completion. – Leadership.
